Gargoyles

The Doldagor (ca. 4000 b. EC - 950 EC) are stone creatures that have inhabited Tirakan since the Third Age. Their shape is that of a gargoyle of the humans, which were designed in their image. Appearance and stone type of the Doldagor are highly variable, so these beings can be very multiform.

Origin

No human document records the origin of the Doldagor. If it was once known to the people, this knowledge was lost many centuries ago. What is proven, however, is the role of the Gargolyes as the forerunners of human civilization. Their roots lie in the time of the wars of the gods; according to legend, they were created by the Titans themselves to watch over the raging war of the gods on Tirakan. They played a crucial role in the fight against the demons. All that remains of the Gargoyles is their language '''Doldag'''. This language was adopted by the people of the young Fourth Age and is still the language in which scientific papers are noted in the 10th century.

The freezing

When the powers of the gods nearly dried up in the Age of Man from the 1st century onward, the Gargoyles also solidified. In the depths of the mountains south of Fraxut, they found refuge in the caves of their ancestors. Unseen and hidden from the humans and dwarves, they endured there for over 1000 years, as rigid and lifeless as the stone that surrounded them. Only in the 8th century will they finally awaken, together with their masters, the Titans.

The flute that calls old friends

Among the Ancatir there is a legend that tells of a divine artifact. This object is attributed to the Titan Rogal. It is a small flute made of stone, which was created after the time of the God Wars, lost at the time of the elven city of Re, and must have briefly reappeared somewhere beyond the Blood Wall at the time of the minotaur March. It is said to have the power to bring single Doldagor in the vicinity back to life.

Gargoyles are playable from the 8th century onwards.
